Biography: Professor Ifeoma Udoye is a Nigerian linguist and academic, currently serving as a Faculty of Arts member in the Department of English at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam Campus, Anambra State, Nigeria. She specializes in Sociolinguistics and Onomastics (the study of names), which are central to her research and academic contributions.<br /><br />She holds a PhD in Linguistics and has a strong research focus on the semantics of dying anthroponyms (names) within the context of Igbo language and culture. Her work is notable for exploring the linguistic and cultural significance of names, particularly in relation to social identity and heritage.<br /><br />She is also involved in the broader academic community, contributing to the development and dissemination of linguistic knowledge both within and beyond Nigeria.<br /><br /><br />Professor Ifeoma Udoye is not only an reputable academic but also deeply involved in humanitarian services. She engages in various community outreach programs, focusing on educational development and empowerment initiatives in hard to reach areas in Anambra state.
