| Biography: |
I'm Comrade Casmir Uchenna Obiakor, PhD. I'm a Lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication, COOU, Igbariam campus with a special interest in Political Communication, Advertising and Public Relations, journalism and media studies and with a touch of interest in film studies and Social media effect. I'm from ORAERI in Aguata LGA, Anambra State. I was the SUG President of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University in 2013/14 academic session where I obtained my degrees in BSc, MSc and PhD. I have conducted several studies and anchored over 20 journal publications both in International and local journals. I have manifested/produced over 50 adverts both in print and broadcast media in view of making the students ready for the labor market as well as produced several newspapers as a practical guide for the students of Mass Communication. I have served in many capacities in the Institution including serving as the Chief Protocol to the former Vice-Chancellor, COOU, Prof Fidelis Okafor as well as the Public Relations Officer II of the Institution. I'm currently the Editor-in-Chief of the Institution's News Bulletin and have served as the Staff Adviser of the Mass Communication Students' Association (NAMCOS) and currently the Alumni relations officer of the Department. I'm also the LOC Secretary for the Faculty of Social Sciences conference and seminar, a member of the Students' Advisory Council of the Faculty of Social Sciences, a member of the VC's Committee on Research into the girls hostel Students' protest. I'm a Scholar of the African Council for Communication Education (SACCE) and have participated in over 10 conferences both national and international, including Dubai and Sierra Leone. Outside of the University, I'm the Secretary-General of ORAERI Development Union (ODU), Corporate ORAERI of Nigeria (CON), Rotary Club of Awka Urban, Umu Abana kindred of ORAERI, and the Financial Secretary of Obiuno improvement Union (OIU). I'm the Comrade Doctor, and have contributed to the growth and development of COOU, and will keep making the University proud to the glory of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. |
