Biography: | Prof. Uchechukwu Grace OJUKWU lectures in the Department of Political Science, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam, Anambra State, Nigeria. I am a Nigerian, born in Iyienu Mission Hospital Ogidi town, in Idemili-North Local Government Area, Anambra state. I attended Ziks Avenue Primary School, Onitsha, and Girls Secondary School, Onitsha where I was thoroughly nurtured for my higher degree education. Furthermore, I obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (1995 - 1999). Due to my quest for advanced knowledge and desire for a career in research and teaching, I went further to bag a Master's Degree in Political Science from the University of Ibadan (2004 - 2005) with a specialization in Public Administration. I obtained a Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) (Political Science) from the Institute of Federalism, University of Fribourg, Switzerland (2016). Lastly, I obtained my Doctorate Degree (Ph.D) from the Benue State University, Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria (2013 - 2018). The rigours that go with this entire academic journey have contributed immensely in shaping and equipping me with the requirements for being a teacher and researcher. Prof. Grace is a dedicated, hardworking academic committed to academic excellence. I have also demonstrated this through my research exploits and achievements as a teacher in my university. I joined the Political Science Department of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (formerly Anambra State University) as an Assistant Lecturer in 2006. I have risen from that rank to a Professor in October 2020. Within these years, I have been involved in the administration of degree and postgraduate courses in the Department; Lectured and supervised seminars/tutorials; Involved in the research and designing of new courses and materials; Provided Students' mentoring; Career development and Academic support services; and Liaised with other professionals such as Public administrators, NGOs, and other agencies, among others. I have also taught courses such as Introduction to Public Administration, Community and Rural Development, Introduction to Political Science, Public Policy Analysis, Comparative Local Government, Political Sociology, Theories and Practice of Public Administration, Comparative Public Administration, Introduction to Comparative Politics, Nigerian Constitutional Development, Politics of Gender, Politics of Development and Underdevelopment and many others. On the other hand, I have also demonstrated my doggedness in academic research which is clearly shown in the different academic writings and publications that are to my credit. I have published in both national and international journals and also contributed to different books. Also, I have co-authored some books and have single-handedly authored a book. My research interest is focused more on Rural Development and Administration, Conflict Management and Peace Studies, Democracy and Human Rights, Gender and Women Studies, Politics of Development, and Comparative Politics. Again, I have also handled different administrative tasks in various capacities.
