Biography: Iheukwumere, Ikechukwu Harmony (PhD) was born on 25th December, 1982 at Supriteindent Priest, Chief G. I. Iruke family in Umuogba, Ipupe, Umuahia South L.G.A., Abia State, Nigeria. He is married to Iheukwumere, Chidiogo Marigold (PhD) with children. He obtained his First school leaving certificate in 1994 from Ogbo Central School, Ipupe, Umuahia South with credit level. He attended Ubakala Secondary School, Umuahia South, where he obtained his secondary school certificate. He was the best student both in his Junior and Senior WAEC. He got his B.Sc. in the Department of Microbiology, Anambra State University (Now Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University) with a First class honours. He was the first, first class student in Department of Microbiology. He was also the best in the Faculty and overall best in the whole University. Immediately after his NYSC; he was employed by a multinational company (NORVATIS), where he served as consumer and pharma representatives for period of time before he later joined the university community in 2009. He obtained his M.Sc and PhD in the Department of Applied Microbiology and Brewing (Medical Option), Faculty of Biosciences,Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, Nigeria with outstanding performances in both programmes. He has published more than one hundred journal articles and attended many conferences. He co-authored three Practical Manual textbooks and also the author of Classical Virology, Immunology and Bacteriology. He is currently the associate editor of the Faculty journal (Tropical Journal of Applied Natural Sciences). He was the first product of ANSU/COOU to obtain a PhD and became Head of Department (HOD). He has taught many undergraduate and postgraduate courses, and supervised many undergraduate and postgraduate students, and also won many awards both national and international. He has held many positions in the Department, Faculty and University such as Examination officer, SIWES coordinator, Seminar coordinator, Project coordinator, Staff adviser, Faculty of Science conference committee member, Faculty of Natural Science conference committee member, Chairperson (LOC) for the third International Faculty Natural Science Conference, University SERVICOM committee member, Faculty PG Representative and currently the Head of Microbiology Department. He is a member of Nigerian Society for Microbiology, American Society for Microbiology and Institute of Public Analyst of Nigeria (IPAN) and also the CEO of ZAHARM Analytical and Research Laboratory.
