Biography: ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Dr. Charles O. Okonkwo is an Associate Professor Psychology, in the Department of Psychology at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University. He did his undergraduate program at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Nigeria; in the Department of Psychology. Completed his masters in Clinical Psychology, from the University of Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria. And, received his Ph.D. from “The Ohio State University”, Columbus Ohio, USA; with a specialization in Innovative Educational Psychology. Dr. Okonkwo’s major research efforts have focused on psychological theories rooted in the Social-Cognitive theory, developed by Albert Bandura, with particular, focus on personal motivation, cognition and competence beliefs (e.g., self-efficacy and implicit theories of ability), among adolescents and young adults. Dr. Okonkwo is a renowned “Psych Entrepreneur” who combines a deep understanding of psychology, a passion for mental health, and entrepreneurial skills to create innovative and impactful solutions. By leveraging his expertise, creativity, and business acumen, contribute to improving the accessibility, quality, and effectiveness of mental health services, ultimately making a positive difference in the lives of individuals, profit/nonprofit organizations and communities. Dr. Okonkwo has experience teaching and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate (Graduate) students; as well as, experience teaching several general and specialized psychology courses, at the Ohio State University, USA; Capital University, USA; and currently, at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Nigeria.
