Biography: Okechukwu N. Ikegwuonu was born on 31st of January, 1982, in a family of Sir & Lady Romanus Ikegwuonu (KSM). A native of Uffa village in Aguluzigbo, Aniocha L.G.A, Anambra State. He obtained his B.Sc (Hons) degree (Geology) from the Anambra State University, now Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, in 2008, and M.Sc degree (Geology), in 2015, from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN). He is currently undertaking a doctoral (Ph.D) degree program in Geology, at UNN, with specialization in Palynology (Stratigraphic). Okechukwu currently teaches Geology, Biostratigraphy, Palynology and Petroleum geology, in the Department of Geology, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Uli, Anambra State. His research interest covers the Cretaceous and Cenozoic palynostratigrahy of the Nigerian sedimentary basins. His works focus on age dating, paleo-depositional environments, paleovegetational, paleoclimatic and palaeogeographic reconstructions, petroleum source rock evaluation, well-site biosteering and palynological fingerprinting, and reservoir stratigraphic modeling, using organic-walled microfossils from both surface and subsurface (land and sea) sediments. His findings and publications are found in various acclaimed professional academic journals. He is single.
