Biography: Born on 9th of March ,1976, Umedum Chinelo Ursula (nee Ochiagha ) had her higher education at Nnamdi Azikiwe University,Awka ,where she obtained the Bachelor of Science degree in 1999 followed by Master’s and PhD degrees in Medical Microbiology in 2004 and 2013 respectively. She started her teaching career at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University in 2006 as an Assistant Lecturer. She rose to the rank of a Professor in 2019. She was the Associate Dean of Faculty of Natural Sciences from 2014 to 2016. She served as the Acting Head of Department of Microbiology from 2016 to 2018. She also served as the Associate Dean of Postgraduate Studies from 2018 t0 2020. She is currently the pioneer Head of Department of Medical Laboratory Science. She has been the Secretary of Nigerian Society for Microbiology South East zone since 2015. She has successfully supervised 2 PhD Students and over 20 Master’s students. She is happily married with three children.
