Biography: PROFILE OF EDITH IFEOMA MADUKASI PhD
Dr Edith Madukasi leads the Environmental Technology Division of the Chemical, Fiber and Environmental Technology Department at the Federal Institute of Industrial Research Oshodi (FIIRO) Lagos Nigeria. Her PhD was on Waste Utilization and Resource Recovery and she has published variously on wastewater treatment & reuse, Solid-waste management & utilization. Dr Edith main research area is on Wastewater characterization, treatment & resource recovery. Solid waste utilization & resource recovery, Sustainable bio-conversion of waste to energy, chemicals and allied useful resources; Energy efficiency and Cleaner production technical know-how for Small and Medium Scale Industries etc. She has held research fellowships on Energy Management & Cleaner Production in Small and Medium Scale Industries both at Malaysia and the Netherlands. A research scientist per excellence who has over 45 research publications in both local & international peer review journals with a book nearing completion titled “INDUSTRIAL LIQUID EFFLUENTS (Properties, Effects and Treatment)”.
Mrs Edith Ifeoma Madukasi PhD was appointed a Senior Special Assistant to Anambra State Governor on protocol and she served as a Media & Event personnel of the Caring Family Enhancement Initiative (CAFE), the Pet Project of the First Lady of Anambra State, Chief (Mrs) Ebelechukwu Obiano (Osodieme global) where she organise, supervise and assist women, youths and physically challenged persons in various vocational skill training, workshops and empowerment programs of CAFE for sustainable development of the State. She also anchors the Prosthetics Limbs distribution of CAFE for people with such needs. She was reappointed to manage the state owned transport corporation for a period of four years (2018 – 2022) as Executive director Transport Company of Anambra State (TRACAS NIG LTD).
Presently, Dr Madukasi is a lecturer with COOU at the department of Environmental Management under the faculty of Environmental Sciences. She is the current departmental Exam Officer and Students course adviser. Her areas of research and teaching include Water and wastewater treatment and resource recovery, Pollution studies and abatement, Environmental toxicology and critical environmental analyses and assessment. Degradation and profiling of emerging containments in the environment.
